About the Project

Inspiration

Mithu's Sunny Adventure was inspired by my love for my sun conure, Mithu, and classic endless runner games. I wanted to create a fun and lighthearted game that showcases Mithu's playful personality while providing an enjoyable gaming experience for players of all ages.

What I Learned

During the development of Mithu's Sunny Adventure, I learned valuable lessons about game design, programming, and project management. I gained hands-on experience with Godot Engine and honed my skills in 2D game development, including sprite animation, player controls, and level design. Additionally, I learned the importance of iteration and playtesting in refining gameplay mechanics and balancing difficulty.

How I Built the Project

Mithu's Sunny Adventure was built using the Godot Engine, a powerful and user-friendly game development platform. I started by creating the game's concept and designing the characters, obstacles, and collectibles. Next, I implemented the gameplay mechanics, including Mithu's movement, obstacle detection, and scoring system. I utilized Godot's scripting capabilities (GDScript) to code the game logic and interactions. Throughout the development process, I iteratively tested and iterated on the game to ensure smooth gameplay and optimal performance.

Challenges Faced

Building Mithu's Sunny Adventure presented several challenges, particularly in balancing gameplay difficulty and optimizing performance for smooth running on various devices. Designing engaging obstacles and refining the player controls required careful iteration and playtesting to achieve the desired level of challenge and enjoyment. Additionally, managing time constraints and balancing other commitments alongside game development proved to be a challenge, but ultimately, the experience was rewarding and educational.
