Mission to reduce emissions

Inspiration

We wanted to find a way to reduce emissions and encourage sustainable behaviour. We decided to implement a tracker of CO2 emissions that would let the user plan their trip with the environment in mind.

What it does

Our app takes in 2 locations and returns a tally of CO2 and stats.

How we built it

We used Heroku to host it, and Python and Flask for the Backend and Vue for the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

We had issues deploying to Heroku so the backend does not yet work online, while it does work locally.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a clean looking UI with a functioning product locally.

What we learned

Heroku is hard.

What's next for Mission to reduce emissions

Fix the backend on Heroku and add more functionalty.
