Inspiration

As a courier, I regularly encounter situations where navigation gets me to the destination, but doesn't prepare me for what happens when I arrive. Missing gate codes, incorrect entrances, construction, loading dock requirements, school traffic, and security procedures often create delays that could have been avoided with better operational intelligence.

Mission Brief was created to solve that problem by providing field workers with an AI-generated briefing before arrival rather than simply providing directions.

What it does

Mission Brief generates a concise operational briefing that prepares workers before they reach a destination.

Each mission briefing highlights:

  • Operational risks
  • Access considerations
  • Navigation warnings
  • Recommended actions
  • Context-specific notes

The goal is to reduce surprises, improve efficiency, and help workers arrive prepared.

How I built it

Mission Brief was built using React, TypeScript, and Vite.

GPT-5.6 was used throughout the product design process to refine the concept, evaluate user workflows, organize operational information, improve the user experience, and help shape product decisions.

Codex accelerated implementation by generating and refining React and TypeScript code, assisting with debugging, iterating on the interface, and helping transform product ideas into a working MVP.

The current version uses deterministic sample data to provide a consistent demonstration experience while validating the operational briefing workflow.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was deciding what information should be presented before arrival without overwhelming the user. The focus became delivering concise, actionable intelligence instead of another navigation interface.

Another challenge was balancing realism with a hackathon timeline while producing a reliable demonstration.

Accomplishments

Building and deploying a complete working MVP that demonstrates a new way AI can support field workers before they arrive at a job site.

What I learned

This project reinforced how AI can be used as a collaborative development partner. GPT-5.6 helped strengthen product thinking and design decisions, while Codex significantly accelerated implementation, debugging, and iteration.

What's next

Future versions will incorporate live AI-generated briefings, real-time traffic and weather data, community intelligence, and integrations with mapping and logistics platforms to deliver continuously updated operational intelligence.
