Inspiration

In emerging markets like Latin America, small business owners, freelancers, and local retail shops face a critical survival challenge: they lose over 40% of their potential sales simply because they cannot respond to customer messages or phone calls instantly, especially during nights and weekends. Hiring a dedicated 24/7 sales and marketing team is financially impossible for them. We created MiSocioIA to solve this. We wanted to build more than a standard chatbot; we designed an autonomous, highly conversational AI business partner that empowers small businesses to operate, sell, and market themselves like a large enterprise at a fraction of the cost.

What it does

MiSocioIA is an all-in-one autonomous AI sales and marketing platform tailored for small business owners. It works seamlessly across three critical pillars:

  1. Omnichannel Conversational AI: It natively manages customer inquiries on WhatsApp, Instagram DM, and Facebook Messenger, handling objections, answering FAQs, and nurturing leads.
  2. Autonomous Voice Agent: When a high-intent lead requires a phone call, our voice agent automatically calls the customer, discusses pricing, and books appointments directly into the business owner's calendar.
  3. AI Content Generator: It acts as a marketing manager, automatically drafting localized social media copy and scheduling promotional content based on the store's current stock or weekly performance metrics.

How we built it

The platform is built natively on the Google Cloud and Gemini ecosystem to maximize speed and minimize API costs for small businesses. We implemented a hybrid model routing system:

  • Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite acts as our first-line traffic filter, handling basic text queries (e.g., location, working hours) at ultra-low latency and zero-waste costs.
  • Gemini 3.5 Flash serves as our core sales engine, orchestrating complex negotiations, understanding customer context, and powering our low-latency voice-to-text agents.
  • Google Cloud Run and Firebase power the web dashboard, providing small business owners with real-time analytics on sales closed, messages answered, and monthly recurring revenue generated by their AI partner.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest hurdles was designing a voice agent that feels natural, empathetic, and culturally aligned with regional business dynamics without introducing high latency. Standard AI voices often sound rigid and robotic. By leveraging advanced prompt engineering on Gemini 3.5 Flash and combining it with rapid text-to-speech rendering pipelines, we minimized response times under 1.5 seconds, ensuring fluid and engaging real-time phone conversations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of designing a highly efficient multi-agent routing system that reduces API operational costs by over 60%. By successfully offloading repetitive, low-intent customer queries to Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite and reserving Gemini 3.5 Flash exclusively for complex sales negotiations, we created an enterprise-grade AI solution that is genuinely affordable and highly profitable for micro-businesses.

What we learned

We learned that small business owners do not just want automation tools; they want immediate, tangible financial results. This project taught us how to couple deep technical AI development with rapid product-led growth (PLG) architectures, ensuring that the AI agent focuses heavily on conversion rates, lead qualification, and immediate customer acquisition metrics.

What's next for MiSocioIA

Over the next 90 days of the XPRIZE Build Window, our priority is hyper-local acquisition and market validation. We are rolling out our initial pilot programs targeting real estate agencies, local medical clinics, and e-commerce shops in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Our goal is to scale our Product-Led Growth (PLG) engine, transition free tier users into paying Pro subscribers, and demonstrate tangible financial metrics and ROI to prove how autonomous AI can drive real economic growth for small businesses.
