Inspiration

A very popular TV show that airs every year for one month actually made us realize this problem. They show these children that are missing and are with a social foundation that take care of them. They show them on TV so that someone who knows them luckily sees them and contact to get them to their parents. We realized that this problem is very intense and it needs to be addressed in a better way. We came up with the idea of Mising for the sole purpose to help the people that are is such a difficult situation. Together the people can help each other we just created a platform that uses the latest technology to help them help each other. A WSJ report of 2012 shows that over 8 million children go missing every year so we know that this app will be able to help a lot of people.

What it does

Mising uses Artificial Intelligence to find people that go missing. For example if you are in a mall and lost your kid and you are worried about where your kid is, just upload their picture and wait for someone to find them and upload one as well. Mising's AI will know that it's the same person and will notify you with all the information you need to contact the person who has your kid.

How we built it

We built it with tools like flutter and dart to develop the app and for the face recognition model we used Google Cloud Platform

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was to deploy the Machine learning pipeline to production on GCP but it was sweeeeet when it was up and running for the first time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we've built something that will actually help people with something that is the closest to their hearts: Their children.

What we learned

First of all we learned how a hackathon works We learned how much we can help if we can use technology and software in the right way. On the technical side we learned about app development and software development.

What's next for Mising

We hope to build it into a startup and scale it to the whole world. This is a problem that anyone can face so every person should have access to such technology. We hope code for Pakistan and govtech-hackathon will give us the initial push and mentor-ship we need to go boom boom.
