Inspiration

During the pandemic and personal losses, many of us longed to reconnect with those we’ve lost or rediscover our own identity. Inspired by that deep human need for emotional connection, Mirror Me was born — an AI-powered companion that reflects your thoughts, feelings, and memories, either as yourself or as a virtual version of a loved one. We wanted to build something that wasn’t just useful — but emotionally meaningful.

What it does

Mirror Me is a full-stack emotional AI web app with two core features:

Self Mirror: Talk to an AI version of yourself that mirrors your tone and gives you deep emotional insights.

SoulCast: Reconnect with lost loved ones through AI-generated voice and video, powered by memories and traits you share.

It combines Deepseek for emotional tone detection and response, ElevenLabs for voice cloning, Tavus/D-ID for realistic video generation, and Supabase for user auth and media storage — all beautifully wrapped in a Bolt.new UI with Tailwind and Framer Motion.

How we built it

Frontend: Built using Bolt.new with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion for smooth, glassy, mobile-friendly UI/UX.

Auth & Storage: Supabase handles authentication, user photo/voice storage, and project data.

AI Pipeline:

GPT-4 detects emotional tone and generates personalized replies.

ElevenLabs converts the reply into the user’s or loved one’s cloned voice.

Tavus or D-ID generates a lifelike video with synced voice and facial expressions.

Hosting: Deployed on Netlify, with a badge and domain integration as per Bolt guidelines.

Challenges we ran into
