Inspiration

People nowadays have too many options when it comes to choosing the right home automation setup that best fits their needs. mIoT-home aims to provide a quick and easy solution to choose the right voice assistant and compatible smart devices to enhance their home experience.

What it does

mIoT-home is an online marketplace for people to order all of the IoT hardware in an easy to use interface. The website partners only the best compatible devices together with your favorite artificial intelligent voice assistant, such as the Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri. We brought together our best engineers to give you the best product environment you deserve.

How we built it

We designed the website using Javascript, HTML, and CSS and it is being hosted on FastSpring's servers. The marketplace is also implemented using the FastSpring API:

mIoT-home uses FastSpring's databases to store all of our product and user information.
FastSpring also takes care of all the purchases and transactions in a secure and user-friendly manner, which allows us to focus on serving our customers.

Challenges we ran into

The original we had for mIoT-home was to host the website on FireBase servers using their API. However, we later realized that FastSpring offered a more competitive solution for the problem we were attempting. We eventually switched our servers to incorporate e-commerce into our website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The website UX design looks very clean and simple providing a pleasant experience for target demographic.

What we learned

Throughout the development of mIoT-home we learned quite a bit about the web development process and how they are actually deployed and maintained.
