Inspiration
We performed market research (reading anonymous Yikyak posts) and determined that many people would like to see a platonic "dating" app for friends and study buddies.
What it does
This web application connects the user to individuals who also have accounts with MinuteMingle. Users can filter by gender and course name to find people in their classes. When users match, they are given the opportunity to reach out via UMass email and start studying together.
How we built it
We created a Next.JS project to support our UI and connected it to a database on mongodb.
Challenges we ran into
This is our first hackathon, so we struggled with getting our setup right the first time. We had to restart our entire project about 3 times before we got it right.

What's next for MinuteMingle
We would love to support more features and filtration options, and clean up our UI for a seamless experience.
