Inspiration

Minti is a social marketplace built on micro-communities. It brings together content creators, web3-natives and community builders together to help creators promote and monetize their intellectual property. Content Creators find it overwhelming to deal with technical aspects of decentralized storage, token minting and building communities. Minti solves this problems and provides a reward based model for each project.

In addition, it caters to a wide range of content including photos and ad shoots, jewelry, music, poems, home-made videos and literary works and scripts.

What it does

Minti helps to build micro-communities around content creators by making each project collaborative. The technical tasks are distributed and people can opt into projects which they want to support and get rewarded accordingly.

How we built it

The NFT minting operations are on Polygon testnet and IPFS is used for decentralised storage. front end application is using reactjs, ethers, nft.storage with metamask integration

Challenges we ran into

the concept was challenging because a traditional nft marketplace automates technical tasks for the users, however, we wanted to change this to provide better flexibility of operations and support in building communities.

Transfer of digital assets to the new owner and removing previous owner rights.

There are other integration challenges with so many components.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are moving the concept from HODL to SODL by bringing crypto-holders into the project and support engagement and sales on the projects.

Still there are several types of content to handle.

What we learned

Start with one content type and then iterate on the model.

What's next for Minti

We want to finalize the first build of this and launch with images and photography. Next will be automating project earnings between all the contributors and also support fiat on/off. Finally we can add support for various content formats.
