Minion novel writer and deep research

Inspiration

What it does

Our project includes three AI agents built on Google's Agent Development Kit: Novel Writing Agents: Create detailed novel outlines and character profiles Generate structured 3-act stories with automated chapter creation Support different genres and writing styles Deep Research Agent: Conducts real-time web research using Tavily API Generates focused research queries automatically Filters and summarizes results using AI Creates professional research reports with citations All agents work with both Azure OpenAI and Google AI models.

How we built it

Framework: Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) APIs: Tavily for web search, OpenAI/Google AI for language models Architecture: Tool-based agents with async processing Data: Pydantic models for structured data handling Testing: Comprehensive test suites for each agent

Challenges we ran into

Data Serialization: Converting custom classes to Pydantic models for proper serialization Session Management: Setting up proper session handling for the ADK framework Content Quality: Ensuring web search results are relevant and well-filtered

I use huggingface's space for hosting, huggingface's space will sleep after 48 hours of inactivity, just restart it if it sleeps. choose novel_fix to try out fixed pipeline of writing novel, it's more predictable, choose novel to try out dynamic pipeline, which all agents are same, differ with novel_fix is using fixed workflow, which you can interact with agent and is more fun. choose deep research to try deep research which can do a deep research of your topic. https://youtu.be/DLQaXRaPGlA , this video merges novel_fix deep research demo.
