Inspiration
Google homepods, and any other home assistants exist however the prices of these products are way too high for what they offer the consumer. The main goal of a home assistant is to help the user be offline to do simple tasks, this way they don't accidentally doom scroll. My app is the solution to this problem with a voice assistant built in that cost as little as possible while maintaining a lot of functionality.
What it does
Detects voice commands without relying on an heavily on api (using it as a backup), allowing there to be as little costs as possible in the long run when using this product.
How we built it
Used ardunio and connect C++ with python by monitoring serial ports.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting python and C++ building hardware and voice detection.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Good level of voice detection.
What we learned
A lot on coding and creating hardware
What's next for MiniAssit
More voice commands and hardware sensors to allow it to do more.
