💡 Inspiration

Classic foosball (table football) is one of the most energetic, physical, and socially engaging arcade games ever invented. However, most mobile soccer games attempt to simulate complex 11v11 field matches with cluttered virtual thumbsticks and complicated controls. We asked ourselves: Why not recreate the genuine reflex-driven thrill of table football with neon cyberpunk arcade energy, instant multiplayer room sharing, and a modern, sustainable monetization model built on RevenueCat?

With RevenueCat Shipaton 2026, our goal was to build a production-grade, Google Play–compliant mobile sports game that combines:

  1. Real-time multiplayer over QR & PIN lobbies.
  2. Physics-based flipper torque calibration.
  3. Clean, fair in-app purchase (IAP) power gating using RevenueCat SDK 9.x.

🚀 What It Does

Mini Soccer : Table Football delivers high-speed neon arcade matches against adaptive AI bots or real-world friends:

  • Real-Time Multiplayer: Players can create private matches in under 3 seconds and share a 4-digit PIN or instant QR code for friends to scan with their camera.
  • Pro Armory & Tuning (RevenueCat Gating): Players upgrade Left & Right flippers with a sequential star progression model:
    • 1 Star Power Upgrade (₹149): Unlocks +1 star kick power for greater ball deflection and speed.
    • All 5 Stars Level Bundle (₹599): Instantly unlocks all 5 stars for the current level, gating tier advancement sequentially.
    • Local In-App Notifications: Players immediately receive customised notifications celebrating their power upgrades: > "Thanks for the upgrade, now you currently have X stars for Left/Right arrow."
  • Organic Match Economy: A daily first-win bonus awards 5 coins per calendar day, ensuring players can also train and upgrade organically without pay-to-win barriers.
  • Smart Network Connectivity: Real-time network state listener with a seamless reconnection banner.
  • Judge & Reviewer Mode: Judges can enter promo code SHIPATON2026 in the shop to test instant power upgrades and progression mechanics without real-money transactions.

🛠️ How We Built It

  • Frontend Framework: Built in Flutter (Dart 3.x), targeting Android 16 (API Level 36) with 60 FPS hardware-accelerated rendering.
  • Monetization & In-App Purchases: Powered by RevenueCat (purchases_flutter: ^9.29.0) utilizing the latest Google Play Billing Library 8.0.0+. We configured non-subscription in-app consumable and non-consumable offerings with server-side validation.
  • Backend, Auth & Realtime: Supabase Flutter SDK provides Google OAuth sign-in, cloud profile syncing, and real-time room matchmaking.
  • Local Notifications: Configured using flutter_local_notifications with core library desugaring for rich Android notifications.
  • Audio & Haptics: Immersive stadium ambient sounds, ball bounces, and goal horns via audioplayers.

Mathematical Physics Model

Flipper torque deflection and ball trajectory follow dynamic impulse equations: $$ \vec{J} = \Delta \vec{p} = m (\vec{v}_f - \vec{v}_i) $$ Each upgrade level modifies the force multiplier ( F_m ) such that: $$ F_m = 1.0 + (\text{level} - 1) \times 0.25 + (\text{stars} \times 0.05) $$

🧗 Challenges We Faced

  1. Google Play Billing 8.0.0+ Migration: Google Play strictly required apps targeting API level 36 to migrate to Play Billing Library version 8.0.0+. Upgrading to purchases_flutter 9.x required handling breaking API updates (CustomerInfo result mappings and non-subscription category queries).
  2. Play App Signing SHA-1 vs Local Debug Key: In internal testing, Google Play re-signs the APK bundle with its own App Signing key, causing Google Sign-In to throw ApiException: 10. We extracted the exact certificate digest from the device's installed APK and configured matching OAuth client IDs in Google Cloud Console.
  3. Responsive Foosball Table Scaling: Ensuring that dynamic flipper angles, stadium barriers, and HUD controls render pixel-perfect across diverse screen aspect ratios without RenderFlex overflows.

🏆 Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

  • Zero compiler issues and 100% clean analyzer passes across Flutter and Android Gradle builds.
  • Production App Bundle successfully built and uploaded to Google Play Console Internal Testing (version code 6).
  • Seamless integration of RevenueCat, unlocking transparent, friction-free purchase flows with real-time entitlement validation and local feedback.
  • Zero-latency multiplayer room creation with camera-based QR code scanning.

📚 What We Learned

  • How RevenueCat SDK 9.x bridges Google Play Billing 8.0.0+ features into clean, high-level Dart APIs.
  • Structuring ethical game economies that balance fair organic gameplay (daily win coin rewards) with enticing IAP accelerators.
  • Best practices for securing Android release bundles with Java desugaring and predictive back navigation gestures.

🔮 What's Next for Mini Soccer

  • Global matchmaking leaderboards with seasonal trophies.
  • Custom soccer pitch themes (Cyber Stadium, Retro Wood Table, Cosmic Galaxy).
  • Cross-platform release for iOS with Apple StoreKit 2 via RevenueCat.
