Inspiration

We all have had times where we felt like we couldn't get anything done and were trapped in a cycle of tasks that were seemingly impossible to overcome. Mini Missions was our pathway to solve those issues, not just for us, but for anyone going through those troubling times and in need of assistance.

What it does

Mini Missions has three different aspects. The primary aspect is the missions page. At the start of every day, you are given 3 small tasks to jumpstart your productivity, and these small wins allow you to ride the productivity of finishing them to other tasks, helping those that are unable to start due to task paralysis, especially those suffering from depression.

How we built it

We used different technologies we ran into in the past such as ml5, cloudflare vector databases, and pocketbase. Our main website was built in Svelte paired with SvelteKit alongside tailwindcss and typescript.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges that we ran into was time management. About halfway into the hackathon, we increased the scope of our project, believing that we had enough time. However, when problems arose with the motion detection of the meditation/posture tracker, we lost a lot of time fixing those bugs. Alongside other bugs that we had to work together to solve, time management was our biggest challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After many different bugs, we integrated cloudflare vector databases to smoothly and accurately detect similarities between responses, and return them quickly. We also were proud of implementing the posture tracker over time, which required a solid amount of math to calculate the distances between the base points given to us by ml5.

What we learned

We learned that we should manage our time a lot better, and have a set plan when we start working, rather than change the plan halfway through and get overwhelmed by the amount of work that we have left.

What's next for Mini Missions

We hope to integrate this idea into future products and build out the idea, as we believe it is worthwhile and helpful to pursue it.
