Inspiration

Our inspiration was being on the golf team, along with the motivation to spread the love and joy for golf.

What it does

Our video game is just mini-golf, the main goal being to have a simple, fun golf game, along with giving us a simple but challenging game to create, as beginners.

How we built it

We built it through the vs-code collaboration system, using the pycode library with python, and then uploaded the code replit.

Challenges we ran into

We had issues with the collision system, although we used a collision checker, for some reason the ball would get stuck inside the obstacles. Along with that we had struggles getting the button to link to a new window, this was a little advanced but we attempted it, and it did not work out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of finishing the project, as we are beginner programmers. In the project we were able to make and acceleration/decceleration and velocity system along with a collision system that worked for the most part. These two things took up most of our brain power and time. The rest was just level development and creating the levels.

What we learned

We learned many things including organization and planning. Before that the main thing is to not have high expectations, because you never know when you might get stuck on a bug, this being our collision system, after that is organization. Our poor organization led us to not being as efficient, because when we had to find code we had to go through hundreds of lines to find things. Lastly is planning, we should have set a concrete goal we had for the end of the project, and tweaked it on the way, rather than starting the project and changing things as we went.

What's next for Mini Golf

Next, we are going to start developing unique levels, along with fixing small bugs and adding more features that make the game unique and enjoyable.
