Inspiration
Minglify was inspired by our own student experience. We have lived in a 100% on-campus uni, a 100% remote one and a hybrid one. We wanted to bring the best of all of them to the same place, allowing students to connect and meet whatever are the circumstances.
What it does
It let's you post any kind of idea or proposal. Maybe you are looking for a study group, trying to create a new sports team for wednesday afternoons or you have a great tinkering idea and would like to find a buddy for it. Minglify allows you to post these ideas anonymously and connects you with anonymous interested students
Why anonymous
We want everyone to engage with minglify and it's great posted ideas, but also we want everyone to feel safe and excited about these ideas, regardless of their gender, studies, age or origins. This is why we keep identities anonymous until the first meeting: connect through ideas - and through nothing else!
How we built it
We used vue.js for front-end and django for back-end.
Challenges we ran into
Well, we never used django before and we are kind of first timers so...
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Just being able to post the project is an accomplishment! We are not from the SW world, so being able to create a MVP it's really exciting for us.
What we learned
Django for starters, and also we improved a lot with vue. But all the web-app thing has been new for us, and we have to say it's pretty cool :)
What's next for minglify - connect through ideas
We have many features left. The first that would be great to approach would be the teaming up features that allow a group of users to meet up but contacting each other anonymously.
