Inspiration

Robinhood democratized investing. However, there was always one huge component missing. What should I invest in? Most of Robinhood's users want to invest but lack the expertise or information to make profitable investments. Minerva is here to change this. With Minerva, users have access to state of the art Sentiment models, Financial Models (Fama French CAPM, etc), Momentum Models and Technical Indicators to guide their investments. With a user friendly platform, Minerva will be the to go platform for new investors.

What it does

Minerva is a sentiment-based stock rating tool for investors of all kinds. Minerva’s proprietary algorithm analyzes sentiment across social media, media publications, and online forums and combines that with rigorous financial analysis. Our algorithm scores each stock with a buy/hold/sell recommendation accuracy to help users decide what to invest in.

How we built it

Natural Language Processing: for the Sentiment Analysis Model, we used Google's BERT for the specific task of Text Classification. We used Hugging Face Repository to use this pre trained model.

Financial Model: all the financial models where build on python using standard libraries such as pandas, numpy and talib
