Minecraft ADK Guild

Inspiration

The opportunity to build agents that actually make a Minecraft bot intelligent enough to understand natural language requests. Google's ADK makes it incredibly simple to build sophisticated multi-agent systems that can coordinate complex real-world tasks.

What it does

Three specialized AI agents work together like a medieval guild: Coordinator plans and delegates tasks, Gatherer finds and collects resources, and Crafter transforms materials into items. Users give natural language commands like "craft a wooden pickaxe" and the agents automatically resolve dependencies, gather materials, and complete multi-step workflows.

How we built it

Using Google ADK's AgentTool pattern for multi-agent orchestration, we wrapped Mineflayer bot functions as ADK-compatible tools and created a Python-JavaScript bridge for real-time communication. Each agent has specialized prompts and uses structured outputs to share results through ADK session state.

Challenges we ran into

Bridging JavaScript functions that control the actual Minecraft bot with Python code while keeping everything integrated within ADK's structure. Managing real-time state synchronization between agents and ensuring proper error handling across the Python-JavaScript boundary.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating agents that truly collaborate - they don't just call each other, they share persistent state and verify results. Successfully deploying to Google Cloud Platform and building a system that works with real Minecraft servers, not simulations.

What we learned

Multi-agent coordination requires more than just having multiple agents - they need shared context, structured communication, and proper error boundaries. Google ADK's session state and AgentTool patterns make this surprisingly elegant to implement.

What's next for Minecraft ADK Guild

Adding Builder Agent for construction tasks, Explorer Agent for mapping, and Combat Agent for defense. We're also exploring applications beyond gaming - the same patterns could coordinate warehouse robots or smart city infrastructure.
