Inspiration

Most of our group had zero or a small amount of programming experience in both web and game design. We chose something that appealed to us, and something that was manageable to code in 24 hours.

What it does

It is our satirical take on the 2D side-scrolling genre.

How WE built it

Used unity, c#, and a lot of google searching and mentor help to create this program as a team.

Challenges we ran into

Due to early wifi problems at the start of the event, we decided to not use git/github and write all the code on one laptop. This led to a potential productivity decrease as working on one computer is obviously slower than working on four. Also, most of us got around 2-3 hours of sleep as we all wanted to work hard on this.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The start menu, retry menu, and the coin score counter, as they took combined over 75% of all our coding time.

What we learned

Basically how to use unity and c# to develop a 2D game.

What's next for "Obviously Looping Tunnel"?

Potentially adding more "luxury" features that we did not have time to add during this hackathon.
