During quarantine period in 2020-2021, we have seen too many people experiencing mental health disorder. Therefore, we want to provide a platform that people can support each other during this difficult time.

What it does

We would like to create a website that creates a community that brings together people who are interested in learning about mental health or need support for their mental health. The bigger picture is to have different communities and issues that people can join such as final week, unemployment, recruiting season, and anti-asian violence. Users can find the group that they belong to and share their life to promote positiveness among the community.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS and Javascript with React as the framework for the frontend. For database, we used MongoDB. For backend, we used Express and Node.Js.

Challenges we ran into

Learning the tech stack, adjusting the frontend design and connecting frontend with the backend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are able to quickly grasp all types of unfamiliar tech stack, help each other and work collaboratively until the last minute.

What we learned

We were not familiar with web development but through this challenge, our technical capabilities in web technology has significantly increased.

What's next for MindSpace

We are going to implement the post and user profile so that users can interact with each other and show their support.
