Inspiration
We were inspired by previous Hackathon winners. This month is mental health awareness month, so we wanted to create a project to caters to improving the wellbeing of individuals.
What it does
It allows the user to specify the kind of story they would like. The AI then generates images and texts which cater to the users specific requests. It is interactive storytelling.
How we built it
We built it using Node.js, React.js, and the page flip wrapper from our React.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges we ran into was running into merge conflict. We would also have liked to make it more organized. Since this is our first Hackathon, we were working under a lot of pressure and learning to navigate though this experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of creating a functioning book. The book has both images and texts inside and include a flipping page animation as well.
What we learned
We learned more about how to utilize our tech stack tools React.js, Node,js, Gemini API and learned about how to work under pressure in a Hackathon environment.
What's next for Mindquill Storybook
We would have liked to create a log in page. We also wanted to incorporate a form in the beginning that the user can use to enter topics they're interested in which can be generated by the AI. We would have also liked to make the site look a bit more aesthetically pleasing.
