Inspiration
I have seen how stress and emotional struggles affect many people around me, especially students and young professionals. Often, we do not pause to check in with ourselves. This inspired me to build Mindnect, a simple tool to help people track their moods, reflect daily, and find balance.
How I Built It
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript for a simple and responsive design
Database: Firebase to store mood logs and journal entries
Charts: Chart.js to display mood trends over time
Extras: Basic integration with free resources for wellness tips
What I Learned
How to plan and develop a working prototype as a solo participant
Managing time effectively in a short hackathon deadline
Using Firebase and Chart.js to make the project interactive
The value of focusing on simplicity while addressing a meaningful problem
Challenges I Faced
Deciding on a realistic idea I could build alone within 2 days
Handling both design and coding responsibilities myself
Keeping the scope small enough while still making an impact
Preparing a clear demo video and documentation by the deadline
Impact
Mindnect demonstrates that even small daily mood check-ins can support mental wellness. Though just a prototype, it has the potential to grow into a platform for personal reflection and mental health support.
