What's next for MindMingle

Our society is one that is heavily split, discriminating against people and framing one group as superior to the rest. Those underrepresented in all aspected from our institutions to simply the media are those underprivileged due to their economic and living situations, which can then factor in one’s racial background in how they’re poorly treated and downplayed. Mental health struggles are a rising issue amongst all-especially teens, in today’s world but still overlooked. We both have comfortable living situations despite the struggles are parents may go through, but many children are not afforded with that privilege. As people of color we have experienced discrimination in our own personal ways. One’s identity and living situation heavily impact how they’re treated in this world. All of these bottled up emotions from past and current experiences with no one to talk to becomes suffocating. We come her to today with a pitch to create a website called “MindMingle”. It’s a space in which underprivileged teenage can connect online to share their personal struggles and offer advice to a group personalized to them. Once making an account, you will be offered a list of terms to loosely/broadly capture you’re personal experiences and who you are. After answering the question are you will be automatically put into a space categorized by your answers with other people going through similar things. You can create posts talking about anything you heave dealt with, are dealing with or feeling in which people can comment advice or their own experiences and thoughts. To avoid harassment everything will be public, meaning no private chatting, alongside automated admins.
