Inspiration Burnout has become an invisible epidemic, silently affecting students, professionals, and caregivers worldwide. We wanted to build a soothing and intelligent companion that empowers people to reflect, track their emotions, and receive AI-driven support to prevent burnout before it becomes overwhelming. MindMend was born from our desire to combine technology, empathy, and mental health care into one accessible app.

✅ What it does MindMend helps users prevent burnout through:

📝 Journaling – Users write daily reflections, which are analyzed for emotional tone and burnout risk. 🙂 Mood Tracking – Quick mood logging with emoji or sliders, plus reasons for their feelings. 🤖 AI Chat Support – An empathetic AI chatbot that offers calming conversations and therapeutic support. 📊 Insights Dashboard – Visual burnout trends, mood distribution, and personalized daily wellness tips.

It’s like carrying a therapist, a mood tracker, and a caring friend in your pocket – all working together to nurture your mental wellbeing.

✅ How we built it Frontend: React Native with Expo for rapid mobile-first development, integrated with Lottie animations for smooth, calming UI experiences.

Backend: Node.js with Express for API routing, and Firebase for authentication and real-time data storage.

AI & NLP: Hugging Face sentiment analysis models for journal entry emotion detection, integrated via Python FastAPI microservices. The chatbot uses OpenAI’s API, fine-tuned to provide supportive therapist-like responses.

Data Visualization: Victory Native for burnout trend graphs and mood distribution charts.

We focused on minimal design, soft color palettes, and large touch-friendly inputs to ensure accessibility and a soothing user experience.
