Inspiration
MindMate was inspired by the need to support elderly people in maintaining their memory, mental activity, and daily routines. We wanted to create a simple and engaging platform that helps users stay mentally active and makes cognitive wellness more accessible. Our goal was to make memory support easier, more interactive, and user-friendly.
What it does
MindMate is a Cognitive Wellness and Care Companion designed to support elderly users through interactive activities and daily care features. It includes cognitive games, memory support, daily reminders, mood check-ins, progress tracking, and caregiver support. It helps users practice memory skills, maintain routines, and monitor their activity through a simple dashboard. MindMate aims to make cognitive wellness more engaging, personalized, and accessible.
How we built it
We developed MindMate as a web-based application with a clean, accessible, and user-friendly interface. We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend and focused on creating an easy-to-navigate dashboard. The interface includes sections such as Overview, Cognitive Games, Memory Book, My Progress, AI Coach, Daily Care, Caregiver, and My Profile. We designed the dashboard to display cognitive scores, daily activities, streaks, mood, and reminders. Our main focus was to make the application simple and convenient for elderly users.
Challenges we ran into
One of our main challenges was designing an interface that is simple and comfortable for elderly users. We had to organize multiple features, such as cognitive games, reminders, and progress tracking, without making the dashboard confusing. We also faced challenges in planning how personalization and caregiver support could work together. We addressed these challenges by focusing on clear navigation, readable content, and a structured layout.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of developing MindMate as a meaningful project that combines technology with social impact. We created a dashboard that brings cognitive activities, memory support, daily reminders, and progress tracking together in one place. We are especially proud of our idea of making cognitive wellness more engaging and accessible for elderly people. This project helped us turn a real-world problem into a practical technology-based solution.
What we learned
Through MindMate, we learned how to plan and design a user-friendly web application. We improved our understanding of frontend development, UI/UX design, JavaScript, and organizing different features into a single platform. We also learned the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and designing technology around users' needs. Most importantly, we understood how technology can be used to address real-life challenges and create a positive social impact.
What's next for MINDMATE
In the future, we plan to improve MindMate by adding AI-powered personalization, more cognitive games, voice-based assistance, and smarter reminders. We also aim to develop caregiver dashboards, progress reports, and personalized activity recommendations. We would like to explore secure data storage and user authentication to make the platform more practical. Our long-term vision is to make MindMate a helpful and accessible companion for cognitive wellness and everyday care.
