Inspiration:
Our inspiration comes from wanting to provide ethical and reliable preventative mental health care assessments to rural and low-income individuals.
What it does:
Personalized Mental Health Plans: Functionality: The chatbot could create and update personalized mental health plans based on users' interactions, progress, and feedback. Innovation: Use AI to continuously learn from user data and provide customized coping strategies, exercises, and resources tailored to individual needs.
Multimodal Interaction: Functionality: Integrate text, voice, and video interactions to provide a more engaging and flexible user experience. Innovation: Users can choose their preferred mode of communication, making the support more accessible and comfortable for different individuals.
Mood and Emotion Tracking: Functionality: Use AI to analyze users' text inputs, voice tones, and facial expressions (if using video) to track their mood and emotional states over time. Innovation: Provide real-time feedback and suggestions based on detected emotions and trends, helping users to better understand and manage their mental health.
Community Support and Peer Groups: Functionality: Create virtual support groups where users can interact with peers facing similar challenges. Innovation: Facilitate AI-moderated group sessions and discussions to ensure a supportive and safe environment, helping users feel connected and less isolated.
Crisis Intervention: Functionality: Implement real-time crisis detection and intervention capabilities. If the chatbot detects signs of severe distress or suicidal thoughts, it can immediately connect the user to a mental health professional or emergency services. Innovation: Use advanced natural language processing and machine learning models to accurately identify crisis situations and respond promptly.
Integration with Wearable Devices: Functionality: Connect the chatbot with wearable health devices (e.g., smartwatches) to monitor physiological indicators like heart rate, sleep patterns, and activity levels. Long-Term Data Analytics: Functionality: Analyze long-term data to identify patterns and trends in users' mental health journeys, offering insights and proactive interventions. Collaboration with Mental Health Professionals: Functionality: Allow mental health professionals to review and contribute to the chatbot's responses and recommendations. Innovation: Ensure the chatbot's advice is accurate and up-to-date by incorporating expert input and maintaining a feedback loop with professionals.
How we built it:
We built it through the web design app, Figma, and stored our code for our Open AI Source chatbot in Github.
Challenges we ran into:
It took a little bit of work to get the app design work on Figma, but once we collaborated with each other, everything worked out well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We're really proud of our app design, because it took a lot of work and effort and in making it throughout this hackathon.
What we learned:
We learned how to effectively use Figma to design our app and learned its functions along the way. Also, we realized that AI can be applied to really anything that we want and it can help make a huge impact on the world, such as social change.
What's next for Mindmate:
We hope to expand and make it into an actual app so people would be able to use it on the App Store.
