Inspiration
The constant bombardment of ads for mental health apps when we don't even know what mental health issues we may be going through.
What it does
Our website attempts to diagnose users through various questions about their day-to-day activities, their sleep patterns, overall mood, etc. Once we have a diagnosis, we will recommend apps that specialize in helping users with a specific condition such as anxiety, depression, or BPD. If we see that a user's condition may be more severe than what an app can handle, we will also recommend local therapists to contact.
We decided not to have a user signup feature because we do not record users' answers about their mental health.
How we built it
Our website was built using Express.js and Pug as a template engine.
Challenges we ran into
Several of our team members could not stay due to academic work
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made a functioning website!
What we learned
The importance of recognizing each other's strengths and weaknesses, and finding ways to work around them.
What's next for MindHeal by Apollo13
If we are to continue MindHeal, we will consult with experts to craft a better questionnaire and fine-tune our diagnosis algorithm. We will also find more quality apps that genuinely help better the lives of their users, and also seek out more therapists for users to contact.
