Inspiration
Having both seen the traumatic impacts of Parkinson's, we felt that addressing the cause in an inventive way that allows the implementation of mobile applications to shine through would be ideal.
What it does
This wireframed web/mobile application seeks to provide those at risk of Parkinson's with an outlet to engage themselves with while simultaneously tracking a "utility index" which is derived from several assessments made on the user as they interact with the application. Whether it's cognitively stimulating puzzles or tremor assessments based off of smartphone accelerometers, Mindfull seeks to aid in the early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, and ultimately improve health outcomes.
How we built it
Our business pitch relies on wireframing, market research, and the feasible implementation of a new market actor on the lucrative mobile health industry while simultaneously improving health outcomes. We utilized wireframing tools and plotted out the necessary software/hardware implementations of the application from front to back-end.
Challenges we ran into
This was a time-crunch, and medical information regulations needed to be addressed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We feel that we have created a visually engaging presentation, financially feasible operational model, and an effective idea for an application that could revolutionize health outcomes for those at risk of Parkinson's.
What we learned
We have learned a great deal about cloud computing and its relevancy to protective health information.
What's next for Mindfull
Mindfull will always be an ambitious project to tackle, but next steps will definitely include a full-scale front/back-end implementation.
