Mindful Egg

Inspiration

We were inspired by how often self-care is talked about but rarely practiced consistently, especially among students. Stress, burnout, and lack of balance are common, yet most tools feel like chores. We wanted to create something that makes self-care feel natural, rewarding, and enjoyable. By turning mental wellness into a visual and interactive experience, we aimed to help people build better habits in a way that feels engaging and accessible.

Problem

Many people struggle to maintain healthy routines because self-care lacks immediate feedback or motivation. It often feels abstract, easy to ignore, or disconnected from daily life. Existing solutions can feel overwhelming or unengaging. There is a need for something simple, interactive, and approachable that encourages consistency without pressure.

How We Built It

We built Mindful Egg in Roblox Studio, combining simple game mechanics with meaningful habits. Actions like journaling, breathing, and stretching directly affect the growth of an egg and its environment. We created UI elements, activity systems, and progression loops to keep the experience intuitive and rewarding. We also worked with assets and external tools to achieve a cozy and approachable design.

Challenges We Ran Into

This was both of our first times touching Roblox Studio. We faced technical challenges with Roblox Studio, including UI elements not rendering properly, asset importing issues, and animation integration. Debugging why features were not appearing and working within limited context made development more complex. We also had to scale down certain ideas to match time constraints while preserving the core concept.

What We Are Proud Of

We are proud of turning a meaningful idea into a working prototype that connects self-care with visual progress. Despite challenges, we created a cohesive experience that is both calming and purposeful. We believe Mindful Egg has strong potential to grow into something that genuinely helps people build healthier habits. We are so proud that the two of us were able to create something meaningful.
