Inspiration

Due to the increasing prevalence of mental health issues in society today, I wanted to build a solution that paves the way to destigmatizing mental health and helps people get the mental support that they need. Mental health issues are often invalidated, and I want to ensure that every single feeling is validated. I wanted to accomplish that through Mindful.

What it does

Mindful is a website that educates the user about mental health issues and provides the user with a chance to chat with a bot that can diagnose the user with any mental issues they may have.

How I built it

I used Replit to build the website from scratch, effectively and efficiently utilizing HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

Challenges I ran into

The main challenge was definitely the chatbot itself. Due to time constraints, I was unable to make the bot more user-responsive and often struggled with various aspects of the code. However, I managed to pull through a deliver a somewhat responsive bot.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm so so proud of successfully completing the website with the bot as it was my first time building a bot and I really love how it turned out.

What I learned

I learned how to develop AI through Javascript, and it is definitely a skill I look forward to utilizing in the future.
