Inspiration

We were inspired by the struggles of our peers and those around us. Particularly, we recognised the widespread issues of dwindling productivity due to distractions and the effects it has on mental health from external stresses.

What it does

Our project provides an all-in-one platform for users to not only boost their productivity by providing a POMODORO timer, as well as a task manager. Besides, we have provided users with external resources which they can employ to seek to improve their mental health. Lastly, our platform provides users with the ability to journal their thoughts, allowing for a holistic approach towards improving the overall well-being for the users.

How we built it

We first envisioned what an ideal platform would look like to us, and one which we would actually use to solve these pertinent issues, and after identifying the key aspects which would motivate us to use these platforms, we subsequently employed skills such as HTML and CSS to build the platform.

Challenges we ran into

Despite eventually producing a working and effective platform, our journey was not without its challenges. However, each challenge provided us with an opportunity for growth, which sharpened our focus and resolve. Examples of challenges that we faced included difficulties in integrating different parts of the project, underestimating the time required for certain tasks and ensuring the final product worked across different platforms.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In terms of accomplishments, we can further break it down into 2 parts. The first being the successful building of a user-friendly and interactive platform, which would allow for a seamless and enjoyable user experience. Secondly, we were also proud of the fact that we were able to leverage each member's strengths to work harmoniously and to eventually produce a collective output.

What we learned

Through this hackathon experience, we were able to pick up various valuable lessons. Examples of these valuable lessons would include technical skills in the various programming techniques, the ability to identify problems and brainstorm effective solutions, and lastly learning to prioritise tasks to maximise output in a limited timeframe.

What's next for MindFit

On our roadmap, we hope to integrate into our all-in-one system more features such as a platform for users who wish to quit smoking, as well as partnering with schools around the country. Besides, we have plans to gamify and personalise the platform, tailoring it to suit the needs of individual users, so as to incentivise the users of our platform.
