Inspiration

As teenagers, we often face stress from school, exams, and social pressures. Many of us don’t have simple tools to track our emotions or manage stress daily. This inspired us to create MindEase — a teen-friendly mental wellness app that makes mindfulness and positivity both accessible and fun.

What we learned

How to turn a problem statement into a practical solution. Basics of UI/UX design — creating mockups that feel simple and inviting. How mental health tools should be designed carefully, with positivity and ease of use in mind. Learned about no-code/low-code app builders and how AI can assist in generating journaling prompts and positivity tips.

How we built it

Brainstorming & Research : We identified problems teens face with stress and journaling. Design : We used Canva to sketch mockups for the app (mood tracker, journaling, and positivity tips). Prototype : Explored no-code tools like Glide and Thunkable to create an app demo. AI Support : Integrated AI-generated affirmations and journaling prompts for a more interactive experience.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the right balance: we wanted the app to be supportive without sounding too clinical. Designing for teens: making it simple, fun, but still impactful. Technical limits: with limited coding skills, we had to rely on no-code platforms and AI helpers. Managing time in the hackathon to finish brainstorming, designing, and pitching in a clear format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built our first mental wellness app concept in just a short hackathon timeframe. Designed a clean and simple UI mockup that shows how teens can track moods, write journals, and get positivity tips. Learned to use no-code platforms and AI tools effectively, even with limited coding experience. Created a pitch deck and story that highlights both the problem and our innovative solution. Worked as a team (or individually) to transform an idea into a working prototype + presentation. Most importantly, we’re proud that our project focuses on helping teens improve their mental health — something that truly matters.

What's next for MindEase – your pocket buddy for a calmer, happier mind.

Gamification → Add streaks, badges, and rewards to make mood tracking fun and engaging. Community Support → Create a safe, anonymous teen community for sharing positivity and experiences. AI Personalization → Smarter suggestions based on user patterns (e.g., recommending mindfulness exercises when stress levels rise). Integration with Wearables → Sync with smartwatches or fitness trackers to monitor heart rate, sleep, and stress. Partnerships with Schools → Expand outreach by collaborating with schools to support student mental health.
