Inspiration
Mental health is an important aspect of overall wellbeing, but it is often overlooked because most people do not know its importance. People tend to ignore mental health issues due to a variety of reasons, which this eventually makes the problem worse. They are reluctant to reach out for help if they need it because they are afraid of being judged and criticized. In fact, 1 in every 5 people live with mental illness. This alarming number depicts how prevalent this issue is. This inspired us to create MindChat, a safe and inclusive web platform where users can talk about issues that are in their mind.
What it does
When users arrive to our platform, they can immediately start chatting with therapists. There is no hassle in creating an account, etc. They can go to the Connect Tab where they will input their name and choose a username. Then they can pick which room they want to go to and chat with the therapist there. Their identity and data will remain confidential, which is important in protecting user's privacy.
