The global mental health crisis affects 1 in 4 people worldwide, yet traditional therapy remains inaccessible due to cost ($150+ per session), availability (weeks-long waiting lists), and stigma. During the pandemic, I witnessed friends struggling with anxiety and depression but unable to access professional help when they needed it most. The breakthrough moment came when I discovered Tavus's conversational AI video technology - for the first time, we could create AI therapists that don't just chat via text, but actually see your emotions, read your body language, and respond with genuine empathy through lifelike video conversations.

What it does

MindBridge is the world's first AI therapy platform that combines:

Challenges we ran into

Emotional Intelligence Integration: Learning how Tavus's perception models work and integrating real-time emotional analysis was complex. Had to understand the webhook system for receiving perception data from Raven-0. Crisis Intervention Logic: Building an automated system that can detect mental health crises through AI analysis without human oversight required careful algorithm design and safety protocols. Therapist Persona Creation: Crafting AI personalities that feel genuinely therapeutic while maintaining professional boundaries and evidence-based approaches. Real-time Data Flow: Synchronizing video conversations, emotional analysis, and database updates in real-time while maintaining privacy and security.
