Inspiration
We know someone who struggled with psychosis and are aware of the impact it can have on their lives. Research shows that a few symptoms can predict a relapse. A patient may not be fully conscious of if any symptoms they are experiencing can predict a relapse - and mental health care providers can't always be there and keeping track of their symptoms
What it does
A patient is asked to answer a few simple questions daily. Mental health providers are provided a summary of the mental health status of patients. Patients that are exhibiting symptoms of relapse are flagged on the dashboard.
How we built it
Figma, Swift,
Challenges we ran into
- Understanding the minimum amount of questions needed to be answered to provide enough evidence for signs of relapse symptoms, but not cause false positives
- More feedback from mental health care providers regarding the design. Feedback from users regarding how easy it is to answer questions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We conducted user interviews to understand their first hand experience as a patient struggling to document, track and share their progress.
What we learned
- Using Swift, and New API there is
- Challenges for mental health professionals to gather evidence on patient's status
- Hospitalization costs, chances of relapse in population
What's next for MindBridge
- Further chats with mental health care providers regarding
- Implement system design and ensure app meets HIPPA, GDPR regulations
