MindBridge Guide AR

MindBridge Guide AR is an adult-facing Montessori teaching coach concept that connects hands-on fraction activities with a digital practice companion.

Current build status: the web companion is working. A SPECS Base Template has been saved in Lens Studio, but the MindBridge AR experience has not yet been implemented or tested in Lens preview. This is a work-in-progress hackathon draft.

The problem

Parents and educators need practical support for presenting fraction lessons, observing independent work, and choosing a later check without replacing physical learning materials.

What works today

The browser-based Fraction Workshop supports three activities: build a whole, find equivalent fractions, and solve a fresh challenge. Adults can rehearse a scripted demonstration, offer a hint, and record an observation. A hint marks an attempt as assisted. Independent success requires a correct challenge response.

Observation records stay in the browser and can be exported, archived, and restored. No child name or account is required. The companion works with mouse and touch.

The planned SPECS experience

An adult will manually place a virtual fraction demonstration beside real materials, step through brief teaching prompts, and record whether a learner succeeded independently or needed support. This AR behavior is planned; the saved Lens project currently contains the base template only.

How it was built

The companion uses JavaScript modules, HTML, CSS, and SVG with exact twelfths-based fraction arithmetic. Codex assisted implementation and verification. Teaching prompts are scripted; there is no runtime AI service or cloud mastery sync. Lens Studio 5.24.1 was installed and used to save the SPECS starter.

Validation so far

Six core tests pass. Desktop and mobile browser checks covered fraction interactions, assisted versus independent observations, archive/restore, JSON export, and narrow-screen layout. These checks cover the web companion only.

The public repository includes the complete saved SPECS starter, working companion source, and provisional devpost planning documents. All 32 uploaded files were verified against the prepared local copies. The Lens remains an unmodified starter.

What remains before judging

Implement the Lens using CLAD and Lens Studio MCP, verify it in Lens preview, update the public repository with that working Lens, record a public YouTube demonstration under three minutes, and complete the participant's remaining form answers. CLAD installation and the Lens Studio MCP connection are now verified. The Devpost Learn planning pack is installed and the design brief has been reviewed. Lens implementation and preview validation are still pending.

This prototype has not been educator-reviewed or evaluated for learning outcomes. Progress indicators and follow-up timing are prototype behavior, not validated mastery assessments.
