Inspiration

Mental health is often ignored in daily life. Millions of people struggle silently without any tools to understand their emotions. I wanted to build something simple, free, and accessible that encourages daily mental health check-ins.

What it does

MindBloom lets users log their daily mood (5 levels), write journal notes, track sleep quality, record activities like exercise and meditation, rate their stress level, and view mood trends over time through a visual chart.

How I built it

Built using pure HTML5, CSS3, and Vanilla JavaScript — no frameworks, no backend, no installation needed. All data is stored locally on the user's device using localStorage for complete privacy.

Challenges I faced

Making the app fully functional without any backend or database was a key challenge. Implementing the mood trend chart using Canvas API from scratch required careful planning.

What I learned

How to build a complete, meaningful application using only core web technologies. Also learned the importance of mental health awareness and SDG 3 goals.

What's next

Adding reminders, weekly mood reports, and multi-language support including Hindi for wider reach in India.
