Inspiration
The idea for this app arose from recognizing how difficult it can be for people to identify micro aggressions, manipulation, and projections in conversations. Many people may go for years without realizing they exhibit these behaviours or are victims of them. These harmful conversational patterns can deeply impact the victim's life, sometimes for years or even permanently. By empowering individuals to recognize their conversational flaws, this app fosters healthier relationships and boosts workplace productivity. Its goal is to help users improve their word choices and tone, ultimately promoting respect and empathy in communication.
What it does
The application analyses improper words or phrases used in a conversation and categorizes them into various groups such as "slanderous," "manipulative," or "hostile." It then suggests alternative words that could have been used and provides recommendations for more constructive and respectful communication.
How we built it
The application was developed using the Omi mobile platform. It incorporates both a chat feature and a memory prompt functionality, providing an intuitive and interactive user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Deciding to build an application without relying on external integrations and identifying a truly unique app idea proved to be quite challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating an application that has the potential of improving relationships and saving lives of people is a great achievement.
What we learned
I gained a deeper understanding of the capabilities of Generative AI and its potential applications. Additionally, I learned the importance of crafting effective prompts and how to tweak them to achieve the desired outcomes.
What's next for Civilized Conversations
Real time conversation analysis to offer insights and notifications immediately the app notices improper language can be helpful in preventing conflicts before they escalate. Additionally, real time insights can be helpful in improving conversations by keeping them civil and constructive.
