Inspiration

Whether it be because of fatigue, stress, anxiety, a lack of practice, or the fact that one in five people experience some form of neurodivergence, the act of producing ideas and making sound decisions can be hard. Current educational systems and societal structures often prioritize rigid standards and neurotypical norms, highlighting the urgent need to foster greater accessibility and inclusion for individuals with diverse learning styles and neurodivergent experiences.

What it does

The solution we are proposing is a brainstorming tool that enables users to capture ideas anytime and anywhere, while leveraging AI to help organize, structure, and transform their ideas into tangible outcomes. Users simply capture their thoughts, revisit and explore their saved ideas, then leverage AI to transform those ideas into creations. Such a tool caters to diverse learning styles, enabling individuals to process and express their thoughts in ways that work best for them - whether it be uploading random documents, recording voice memos on the go or looking back at an old idea.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Being relatively new to project creation, we came into challenges trying to decide how to approach our project and learning new skills to make our ideas come to reality. Our main goal of this hackathon was to learn new skills which can be hard when trying to also come up with a final product. We dedicated the first few hours to learning how to use new tools and applications such as Figma and Reflex. We were able to make progress by determining realistic MVPs and continuously adapting our plan depending on the progress we were making and the problems we encountered.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Having a two person team, new to hackathons we took the opportunity to really go out of our comfort zones and learn new skills. We had one person developing and one person working on the product vision, and design.

As a designer I am proud of using figma for the first time and using it to create a prototype that helped bring our vision to life! Really trying to keep user experience in mind I opted for a minimalist design with soft colors to create an inviting and user-friendly environment.

As a developer specializing in back-end development, I take pride in my determination to continuously learn and apply front-end development skills. I'm particularly proud of implementing audio-to-text functionality and leveraging Google Cloud for data storage.

What we learned

We leaned that there are always things that we can improve on and learn. We have really enjoyed the process of learning and trying new things throughout this hackathon. Despite not being able to fully create a fully functioning tool like we had hoped for, this 24hrs of hacking has been filled with personal successes!

What's next for Mind Flow

As we are not yet sure how to transform our vision, prototype and working tool into a fully fleshed out application, we would love to continue the learning and skill acquiring process that will allow us to produce a finished product. We hope to add more functionalities and really fine tune the UI/UX aspects of our project to really allow for our tool to be accessible and useful for all!
