Inspiration

Struggling with mental health issues can affect one’s ability to function on a day-to-day basis. According to the APA, Gen-Z is most likely to voice mental health concerns. As part of Gen-Z ourselves, we wanted to make sure that people of all ages that deal with mental health issues have access to a resource that caters to their needs, and makes dealing with mental health issues just a little better.

Purpose

Mind Over Matter is a website that connects those experiencing certain types of mental health issues to others experiencing similar things. People are connected to others through the results of a questionnaire, leading to friendships and good conversation. Our website also opens up access to online mental health resources such as virtual therapists and hotlines. If people feel like meeting others experiencing the same things as them in person, they can find social events near them that cater to their needs while also allowing them to build strong relationships.

How we built it

We built the website using HTML, CSS.

Challenges

None of us had much experience with HTML or CSS going into this project, so much of our time was dedicated to simply figuring out the languages themselves.

What We Learned

We gained more knowledge in HTML and CSS. We also learned how to collaborate together on a project of this scale by asking each other for help when we were stuck and using our different skill sets to pull this project together.
