Inspiration
1) Steve Jobs: “I think everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think.” 2) Learning to code is hard and takes time few people are ready to invest 3) Europe & U.S. alone will face a shortage of up to 1.5M skilled ICT workers by 2020
What it does
A mobile education experience that makes people want to learn to code and stick with it
How I built it
We used Swift, Objective-C, and many, many libraries. Such as the Facebook libraries for social login and social sharing features on Facebook. We launched the first version of Mimo in 2016, and since then we're testing, iterating, and improving the learning experience.
Challenges I ran into
So many that it's hard to pick one. However, finding a great team that is committed to the mission was and is definitely the biggest challenge for every project that is not a one-person job.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We have brought the basics of coding to a million of users so far.
What I learned
We learned how to build a robust app, how to find great team members, how to gather user feedback and use that to improve the app further.
What's next for Mimo
Improving, improving, and .. improving!
