MiMedi aims to encourage users to engage with their public health - through facilitating regular check-ups, connecting users with the right practitioners, and reducing misinformation for better health outcomes. MiMedi promotes better community health, and in doing so, joins the fight against current and future health problems - from your common cold, to global pandemics and everything in between.

There are three main functions:

  1. A calendar feature which enhances convenience by suggesting health check ups (based on medical recommendations) to users, and reminding them of upcoming appointments. The user is further able to add, subtract, and modify appointments according to their own needs, as well as set medication reminders, including frequency, amount, and when they will need refills. All of this is to allow users to get on top, and stay on top of their health.

  2. A ‘locate practitioner’ feature that promotes health care accessibility by facilitating users in locating the best medical practitioner for their specific needs. MiMedi will combine google maps with custom filters: location, language, clinic availabilities, services provided, and payment options - to recommend specific clinics and practitioners matched with the user’s personal needs.

  3. An informative function, which connects the app to the Department of Health and Human Services, subsequently notifying the user whenever a major health update is issued. This keeps users informed about important health-related issues in Victoria in real time, which will be invaluable during future health crises.

In summary, MiMedi is a comprehensive health app that makes one’s vital healthcare needs convenient, accessible, and informative. Through a functional yet seamless platform, MiMedi optimises individual health engagement, and consequently, promotes public health in a post-covid world.
