Inspiration Many veterans struggle to explain their military experience to employers. We wanted to create something that helps them turn their service into career opportunities.

What it does MilSpec Translator converts military roles and skills into civilian job titles, resume bullets, and career insights. It helps veterans find the right path after service.

How we built it We built it with React and TailwindCSS for the frontend. It connects to the Google Gemini API to generate clear, structured results directly in the browser. Anthropic for debugging of code.

Challenges we ran into Getting accurate, readable output was tricky. We had to handle JSON parsing issues, improve prompts, and keep the interface simple and responsive.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We built a working tool that can actually help veterans. It looks clean, runs smoothly, and delivers valuable results.

What we learned We learned how to design for clarity, integrate APIs, and build user-friendly interfaces that make a real difference. This is our first time experience while being in an online hackathon so it will be a whole new experience too!
