Inspiration
The inspiration comes from TMDH which was built in 2005 by Alex Tew, a 21-year-old student who sold a million pixels on the webpage for $1/pixel. The website earned over $1 million within 5 months!
We gave it a web3 spin-off to create one of the first decentralized Million Dollar Billboards on Polygon.
What it does
The home page consists of a million rentable pixels arranged in a 1000 × 1000 pixel grid. The purchasers of these pixel blocks provided tiny images to be displayed on them (which will be turned into a Polygon NFT), a URL to which the images were linked, and a name to be displayed when hovering a cursor over the link. The aim of the website is to provide advertising real estate, acting as an ultimate internet billboard (of course decentralized).
How we built it (The Tech Stack)
Foundry (testing + refactoring), Hardhat (writing the smart contract), Slither (security) for the smart contract, Alchemy (nodes and the SDK 2.0), Amazon (website hosting), IPFS (decentralized data storage - metadata), Chainlink (price oracles) and Polygon for deploying NFT smart contract.
