• Freelancers & Agencies: Suffer from scope creep, delayed milestone sign-offs, and payment ghosting after code delivery.
• Clients & Enterprises: Fear paying upfront for broken code, missed SLA deadlines, or abandoned repositories.

Traditional project management tools (Jira, Linear, Asana) have no concept of escrow custody or financial settlements. Meanwhile, payment gateways operate purely in dollars without understanding code repositories or pull requests.

MilestonePay AI bridges this divide by turning raw contracts into autonomous, visual Bryntum Gantt milestones backed by cryptographic deliverable audits and headless PayPal escrow releases.

What it does

MilestonePay AI connects project timelines directly to capital:

1. AI Contract Decomposition: Clients upload or paste an unstructured Statement of Work (SOW). Google Gemini 2.5 Flash decomposes deliverables into discrete work packages, assigns duration schedules, maps dependencies, and allocates milestone escrow budgets.
2. Interactive Bryntum Gantt Visualization: Renders decomposed deliverables on an enterprise-grade Bryntum Gantt Engine, showing critical paths, predecessor-successor relationships, progress percentages, and real-time escrow lock states.
3. PayPal Orders v2 Headless Escrow: Authorizes the full project escrow vault upfront using PayPal Orders v2 Sandbox.
4. Automated Deliverable Verification: When a milestone PR is submitted, an autonomous agent inspects test criteria, generates an immutable SHA-256 cryptographic audit proof, and programmatically executes a headless PayPal Capture (/v2/checkout/orders/{id}/capture).
5. Sustainable B2B SaaS Monetization: Automatically deducts a built-in 2% platform fee on every released milestone, streaming live revenue metrics to the enterprise dashboard.

How we built it

• Frontend & Timeline: React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vite, Lucide Icons, and the Bryntum Gantt Engine (with native ProjectModel data export).
• Backend Architecture: FastAPI (Python 3.11), Uvicorn, Pydantic v2, and SQLAlchemy with a persistent schema.
• AI Engine: Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for deterministic JSON contract parsing, dependency mapping, and deliverable quality scoring.
• Payment & Escrow Layer: PayPal REST API v2 (/v2/checkout/orders with intent: AUTHORIZE, programmatic captures, and Webhook listener).
• Cryptographic Audit Ledger: Real-time Server-Sent Events (SSE) streaming SHA-256 deliverable hashes and PayPal capture tokens directly to the client interface.

Challenges we ran into

• Strict Gantt Dependency Modeling: Ensuring that Gemini's dynamic JSON output accurately mapped to Bryntum Gantt’s strict dependencies data schema (id, from, to, type: 2) without creating cyclic dependencies or broken critical paths.
• Headless Milestone Captures: Orchestrating partial, incremental captures against an authorized multi-milestone PayPal Order while maintaining an exact, unclipped audit ledger of capture IDs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• A complete, zero-friction 1-click preset testing experience designed specifically for hackathon judges (Web3 DeFi, Enterprise LLM RAG, Mobile Fintech App).
