Smart Mirror

What it does

Display information on the monitor such as weather, date, time, and play music.

How we built it

We used CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and Raspberry pi create the interface that will be displayed on the monitor.

Challenges we ran into

We have very limited experience with Raspberry Pi, HTML, and javascript. Besides that, a few people from our team could not make it due to the snow, therefore, we had more work to do than planned. We also spent most of the time self-teach ourselves HTML, and CSS. and got stuck for a while trying to figure out how to work with Rasbian.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We didn't really start until 2:00 am this morning. From 2 am- until submitting the project, we learned so much more than we ever did in these languages. Even though the things we wanted to implement such as music and light control, and google voices are not complete, we still got a functional project that is going to keep us working on it.

What we learned

Everything is achievable as long as you believe in yourself and not going to give up.

What's next for MiiRa

We're hoping that we could develop an upgrade version of the smart mirror that will let you interact with it by google voice/ Alexa, or Echo. It will be able to play music and control lightings, as well as becoming a night lamp.
