Our name is inspired by the Greek translation of "little friend"- (micro-Filos). Our customization feature is inspired by Wii characters. Our overall concept was inspired by water reminder applications.

Our chrome extension pops up with a certain frequency when users are using specific websites deemed to be triggering. MiFilos displays encouraging messages generated by Artificial Intelligence, based on each user's mental struggles.

We built this extension by prompting VS copilot to generate our code, then we downloaded the code and loaded it onto chrome extension as developers. After a lot of troubleshooting, the extension was close to what we hoped to accomplish.

We ran into challenges when trying to prompt Visual studio code copilot. We continuously changed our wording and was able to jump over that hurdle. We also encountered problems when trying to share our code and work on it simultaneously on Git Hub, we ended up switching to live share, an extension VS code that allows us to edit the code in real time.

We're really proud of the way we stayed curious during this hackathon. We came into this with little to no knowledge and with the help of the volunteers and AI we were able to make our vision come to life and leave with a lot of knowledge. We're proud that we showed up and tried our best.

We learned how to use tools that were previously unfamiliar to us. We learned how to use visual source code, git hub, how to collaborate on one code and make it accessible to each other. This was all thanks to the volunteers who were always willing to help us!! Thank you guys!!

We hope to take MiFilos to the next level using Gemma 4 to improve the design of our icons(We were aiming for better looking icons). We would also like to use eleven labs to add voice features to the characters so that the pop ups can appeal to emotions.
