Homepage design for the app

Inspiration

I'm very passionate about the environment. However, whenever I tried finding environmental events in my community, I had a hard time with the current websites. So I wanted to create a website specifically for environmental enthusiasts.

What it does

This site basically connects people with environmental events hosted by organizations or people. Users/Organizations can organize public or private events and share it on the website. If users create an account or login to their account, they will be prompted to questions about their interests. This allows us to create a curated list of events on their events page. Regular/logged-in users can search for different events based on location and dates as well.

How we built it

We designed the app on Figma online prototyping tool. We then used a base code with react, css, and html to create a static website with homepage.

Challenges we ran into

Sleep deprivation, a little trouble finding the starting point of coding the app, but then we were able to figure it out using online tutorials.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Create the static version of the app and creating a design for the app which has good UI/UX features.

What we learned

We learned how to prototype with Figma prototyping tool. We also learned a lot about how to use GitHub.

What's next for MiEnvi

Since it has the potential to be a start up, we will continue developing the web application to make it more dynamic. We will be using firebase and other backend tools to make the app better curated for the user.
