We had our simple App that used only Incoming Webhook and we decided to take it to the next level.

What it does

  • It allows to receive, filter and customize notifications from Jira into Teams. Interact with the cards receive from a notification or the search results.
  • Search Jira issues using free text or JQL search, unfurl links
  • Create Microsoft Teams issue discussion channels from Jira.
  • Create tabs to view, create and edit Jira issues from Teams Many more things are coming:

  • scheduled reports and alerts delivered into Teams
  • etc

How I built it

We built it using Serverless framework, TypeScript on AWS (S3, Dynamo, Lambda, etc). The frontend is ReactJS.

Challenges I ran into

  • Adopting Bot Framework to AWS Lambda
  • Loading indicator was on and we waisted 3-4 hors investigating why Tab configuration screen had constant spinner

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • We managed to submit it for Microsoft for review, but it is only the beginning!
