Inspiration
Burnout is a real thing. I have been working in the corporate world for over 25 years, and honestly, I have been battling personal burnout for at least the past 5 years. Well all know that getting outside for physical activity and going on trips and adventures can help to stave off burnout. But between raising a family and working full time, it is hard to find the time to get away. Recently, I have discovered two things that have helped me to win that battle against burnout: 1). Breaking down outside activity into smaller, more manageable "microadventures" that can be easily completed locally and within 1-4 hour timeframes at my own pace (daily/weekly/monthly), and 2). Bolt.new, which has not only helped me to begin visualizing and creating my business ideas (because I have been entrepreneurial for many years), but more specifically it has helped me to develop my outdoor microadventure app for the world to try!
What it does
Our Mission At MicroCampCoolin, our mission is to promote wellness through small, manageable outdoor activities that help users avoid burnout while embracing a more relaxed, "coolin" lifestyle. We believe that adventure doesn't have to be extreme to be meaningful.
What We Do We provide unique microadventures across 6 different themes and locations. Each adventure is designed to be completed in a short amount of time, making outdoor activities accessible to everyone, regardless of their schedule or fitness level.
Gamified Experience Complete adventures to earn badges, build streaks, and level up your outdoor lifestyle. Our gamification system makes staying active fun and rewarding, encouraging consistent engagement with nature.

How we built it
To be completely up front, I am a non-tech / no-code person, so please forgive me as know not what I'm talking about most of the time. But I love to learn, and I have fallen in love with vibe coding, as it has allowed me to visualize and create some of my business ideas. I built MicroCampCoolin completely via vibe coding with Bolt.new. I believe the Frontend framework is React, but note that I used Expo (based on Bolt.new's suggestions) to set up for mobile deployment in the near future. I integrated with Supabase for backend, and Stripe for payments. We used Netlify for deployment because of its incredible ease of use and robust features, enabling a quick and reliable deploy of application.
Challenges we ran into
Creating the whole app via vibe coding has been an extreme challenge. Design and hook: I worked at coming up with the right colors, buttons and placement, logo, navigation, and page design that is intuitive for the user.
Balancing performance with aesthetics: I carefully integrated intricate UI elements and intuitive design while continuously optimizing the code to maintain top-tier performance. This ensured a smooth and responsive user experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I think I was able to integrate a UI that provides a great combination of the gamification and being serious about mental and physical wellness.
I think the app journeys the user through in an easy but fun manner. It's gamified but not over the top, and it drives the user in an easy, manageable way to embrace outdoor activity, which I believe will help them to avoid burnout.
What we learned
I am learning more and more about coding and design every day.
