Microbit robot LED hack

Inspiration

Alexandra: I have attended Technica since I was born! We are both 10-years old this month since I was born in October.

What it does

So to celebrate, I built and programmed a Microbit robot to display a “10 years of Technica!” message.

How we built it

I repurposed a Microbit robot platform from a camp that I went to and I programmed a led display on it to scroll the message using JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

I wanted it to roll but the battery for the wheels had a missing metal piece so the power circuit couldn’t connect throigh the batteries and the microbit had to stay connected to my computer at all times. (My mom’s computer actually.)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We did this hack in only 15 minutes!

What we learned

I was given a battery pack in the kit that was broken. When I get a new kit sometimes will be missing. Sell it, and get a new one!

What's next for Microbit robot LED hack

I want to turn it into a cat hack, or a real living cat. But… prolly that’s not within the realm of possibility.
